Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is a free-to-play digital collectible card game developed and published by CD Projekt for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is derived from the card game of the same name featured in Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher novels and playable in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt video game. It will feature cross-platform play between the PC and console versions, although platform play between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions is not supported.

Following an open beta release in May 2017, it was officially released for Windows in October 2018, and will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in December later that year. A standalone, single-player campaign mode, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, was also released alongside the game.

Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics.

Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.

First edition, first impression. Presentation copy to Henry James, inscribed by the author at publication on the first blank, “Henry James from H G. Wells”. Beneath the inscription Wells has sketched a drawing of a club-wielding cave man—probably a reference to the third story in this collection, “A Story of the Stone Age”. Though dated 1900, the book was actually published in November 1899 and James wrote to Wells on 20 November 1899 to thank him for the gift of this and another book: “These new tales I have already absorbed and, to the best of my powers, assimilated. You fill me with wonder and admiration” (Edel and Ray 62).

Henry James and H. G. Wells appear to have met in 1898. Three years earlier Wells had, as a drama critic, witnessed James’s public discomfiture at the first night of Guy Domville, when the gallery booed the American novelist as he came out to take a bow before a fashionable London audience. In 1900, when Wells moved to Spade House, Sandgate, across Romney Marsh from James’s house at Rye, the two began to meet with some frequency. They spent long hours in the Lamb House garden or in the library, in endless talk. Their friendship eventually foundered on their fundamental differences of outlook, both social and literary, but this presentation dates from the time when their friendship was in its first flush.

Was JRR Tolkien correct when he said that Christianity is the “true myth”? Does the word “myth” imply lies or falsity? Dr Taylor Marshall and Fr Dwight Longenecker discuss the vocation of the story teller and the art of story telling in light of JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Evelyn Waugh, Graham Green, Flannery O’Conner, and others. Find Fr Longenecker’s “True Fairy Tales” series on iTunes or at

Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen, Arthur Rackham. Signed Limited Edition, 1932. London: George G. Harrap & Co., Ltd. 1932.

You can view our first edition of Fairy Tales on our UK site here:
Or alternatively on our U.S. site here:

Presented by Pom Harrington, owner of Peter Harrington Rare Books – &

Quarto (263 × 194 mm). Deluxe binding of green full morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, spine lettered and panelled in gilt, sides bordered in gilt with large gilt devices at corners designed by Rackham, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, others uncut. In the original card slipcase with printed label numbered by hand “9”. Frontispiece and 11 full page plates by Arthur Rackham printed in full colour, with captioned tissue guards; uncoloured illustrations in text, of which 9 are full page; title page in black and brown. Spine even faded as often with this shade of green, else a fine copy.

Signed limited edition, special issue. The book is signed on the limitation page by Rackham and opposite is a humorous original ink and watercolour image, “An Old Wife’s Tale”, signed in full by the artist and dated 1932. This is one of the nine special copies commissioned by Harrap, with the deluxe leather binding and an original watercolour, of which eight were for sale. The publisher has added a manuscript note to that effect on the limitation page. The entire edition was limited to 525 copies, of which 500 were for sale. Each of the nine watercolours depicts a different scene. Describing his artistic method for these “specials”, Rackham pointed out that, “my little sketches must inevitably be of a light hearted or joking nature… They have to be spontaneous and free handed. The nature of the paper is such that there can be no preparatory drawing and no alterations”.

(RACKHAM, Arthur.) POE, Edgar Allan. Tales of Mystery and Imagination. Published: London: George G. Harrap & Co Ltd, 1935.

Presented by Pom Harrington, owner of Peter Harrington Rare Books.

Quarto (262 x 186 mm). Specially bound for the publisher in green full morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, gilt lettered and panelled spine, single-line gilt lozenge on sides with gilt corner ornaments from designs by Rackham, top edges gilt, others untrimmed, three-line gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers (the original pictorial endpapers bound in after binder’s blanks). With the publisher’s card slipcase (with hand-numbered label). Colour frontispiece and 11 colour plates mounted on heavy white paper with captioned tissue guards, black and white illustrations in the text, by Rackham. Slight signs of wear at extremities of joints. An excellent copy.

Deluxe edition, number 3 of 460 copies signed by the artist. This is one of ten “special copies” reserved by the publisher from the total edition, presented in a specially commissioned luxury binding decorated in gilt with tools designed by the artist, and including a full-page original pen-and-ink and watercolour drawing by Rackham (signed “Arthur Rackham 1935”), showing a seated elderly man reading a hair-raising story, while his black cat spits at the Devil, who emerges from behind his armchair. It was George Harrap who hit on the idea of a “Rackham special”, the most exclusive format of Rackham’s books. From The Vicar of Wakefield on, Harrap held back the first dozen or so copies to be specially bound, as here, and asked Rackham to add a unique original watercolour sketch to the limited page. The first few copies were usually reserved for the publisher and his family; only a handful were available to the public. Describing his artistic method for these “specials”, Rackham pointed out that “my little sketches must inevitably be of a light hearted or joking nature … They have to be spontaneous and free handed. The nature of the paper is such that there can be no preparatory drawing and no alterations”.

About: The Gingerbread Man (also known as The Gingerbread Boy or The Gingerbread Runner) is a fairy tale about a gingerbread man’s escape from various pursuers and his eventual demise between the jaws of a fox. *wikipedia*

The Story:

Once upon a time, an old woman and her husband lived alone in a little old house. The couple had no children, and being lonely, the woman decided to make a boy of gingerbread. She carefully mixed the batter, rolled out the dough, and cut out out a very nice gingerbread man. She added sugar icing for his hair, mouth, and clothes, and she used candy chips for buttons and eyes. What a fine looking gingerbread man he was! The old woman put him in the oven to bake. After he was fully done, she slowly opened the oven door. Up jumped the gingerbread man, and he ran out the door saying,”Run, run, as fast as you can! You can’t catch me! I’m the Gingerbread Man!”
The old woman and the old man ran after him, but they could not catch him.
